About Children’s Services Councils
Member CSCs
The following CSCs are members of the Florida Children’s Services Council non-profit association. Through their collaborative efforts with agencies, officials and service providers, CSCs work to improve young lives by making strategic investments in the well-being of Florida’s children and their families. CSCs are recognized for providing innovative leadership and vision to community, state and national initiatives. CSC of Broward County
The Children's Services Council of Broward County is a special unit of government created by voters in 2000 to coordinate and fund services, for and on behalf of, children in our community. The CSC of Broward County gets less than 2 cents of every dollar paid in property taxes and those tax dollars are dedicated solely to providing money for a wide variety of programs designed to help every child lead a healthy, safe and productive life.

CSC of Highlands County
The Children’s Services Council in Highlands County operates within the Human Services Division of the county. As a function of county government, the CSC is considered to be a dependent district, meaning the CSC gets its funding out of general ad valorem taxes collected by the county. Other entities that operate under the county umbrella of Human Services include the Children Advocacy Center, Social Services Office, and the Veterans Services Office.

Children’s Board of Hillsborough County
The Children’s Board was established in 1989 with a mission of improving the lives of children and families in Hillsborough County. Today, the Board continues this mission by funding local prevention and early intervention supports and services, as well as providing: Leadership, Planning/Analysis, Advocacy, Technical Assistance/Training, Information and Education, and Research and Evaluation.

Jacksonville Children’s Commission
The Jacksonville Children’s Commission was established in 1994 by previous mayor Ed Austin and City Council as an independent authority of the City of Jacksonville. It was created as a central entity to focus the city’s and community’s attention and resources on prevention for at-risk children as the most effective means for improving child and youth outcomes.

CSC of Lake County
The Children's Services Council is a 15-member advisory board to the Lake County Board of County Commissioners (BCC). The Children's Services Council advises the BCC about children's issues in Lake County, assists with strategic planning for children and family services, and provides a forum to exchange ideas and promote partnerships among service providers and citizens.

CSC of Martin County
The Children's Services Council of Martin County is an independent special district authorized by Florida Statute 125.901 and created by Local Ordinance #348 on June 28, 1988. The purpose of the Children's Services Council is to plan, coordinate, fund, and evaluate programs and to address public policy issues relating to children in Martin County.

The Children’s Trust of Miami-Dade
The Children’s Trust is a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of the children and families in Miami-Dade County by making strategic investments in their future.

CSC of Palm Beach County
The CSC’s mission is to enhance the lives of children and their families and enable them to attain their full potential by providing a unified context within which children’s needs can be identified and resolved by all members of the community. To achieve this, the CSC plans, develops, funds, and evaluates programs and promotes public policies that benefit Palm Beach County’s children and families.

JWB – CSC of Pinellas County
The JWB Children’s Services Council of Pinellas County (JWB) is the nation’s first Children’s Services Council. JWB was established in 1946 as the first county-wide agency dedicated to improving the lives of children and families. JWB uses dedicated property tax revenue to fund services for the children and working families of Pinellas County through our partners, including non-profit organizations, governmental agencies, and grassroots community groups.
JWB ensures the positive development and well-being of all children and families in Pinellas County through the prudent investment in solutions that work.

CSC of St. Lucie County
In 1990, St. Lucie County residents voted to establish an independent special district to levy local property taxes to help children reach their full potential. The Children's Services Council of St. Lucie County makes best use of the tax dollars by investing in children's prevention and intervention strategies that provide long-term savings to the community as well as long-term benefits to children and families.
