About Us
Florida Afterschool Network
The Florida Afterschool Network (FAN) is a grant-funded program that advocates for the development, enhancement and sustainability of innovative, high-quality afterschool programs and policies statewide. The FAN program is dedicated to the promotion and development of safe and accessible afterschool learning environments for Florida’s children.
Recently, the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation issued a three-year grant enabling the launch of the FAN program in Florida. In addition to funds from the Mott Foundation, FAN receives matching funds from organizations, including children’s services councils, the Florida Department of Education, the Florida After School Alliance, the Children’s Forum, the University of Florida, Boys and Girls Clubs, National After School Alliance, and Volunteer Florida. To date, the founding partners have invested more than $100 million in afterschool programs statewide.
Operating out of the FCSC office in Tallahassee, FAN also collaborates with national afterschool efforts. To learn more about the goals and accomplishments of the FAN program, visit the FAN web site at: www.myfan.org.
